Sanda and Roach to present analysis at Xen Developer Summit
DornerWorks is pleased to announce that the Xen Project has accepted the topic proposal “Review and Analysis of Performance Metrics of the Xen Hypervisor on Zynq® UltraScale+™ MPSoC” and invited Benjamin Sanda and Jarvis Roach to present the results of their study on Xen performance on an embedded platform at the Xen Developer Summit 2016 in Toronto, August 25th and 26th. Performance metrics collected are a crucial piece of information in determining the suitability of using the Xen hypervisor, possibly to provide physical consolidation while maintaining logical isolation, in embedded solutions using ARMv8 architectures. Ben and Jarvis will present on boot times, interrupt latencies, and domain context switch times and discuss the ramifications on overall system performance. While these results will be specific to the Zynq® Ultrascale+ ™ MPSoC they will also be useful in determining a rough order of magnitude estimate for similar ARMv8 platforms.
